Change the details of an event such as start and end date, Time zone, Event status and mode, etc.
On Step 1, select the General Settings tab and within it, you may select Update Details that would allow you to review and update the following information:
- Event name: name of your event
- Start date: start date of your event
- End date: end date of your event
- Time zone: If your event is taking place in a specific region, we suggest setting the time zone to within that region.
Caution: Changing the time zone on General Settings mid-event will affect your existing meetings, their locations, and your agenda. You would need to re-create meetings and agenda.
A warning message will also appear when changing the time zone.
Remember: Attendees can choose their own time zone in the platform to view event timings locally. They do this by selecting the small clock icon, located to the right of the top menu bar.
- Live Date: entering the live date will activate the countdown clock on the event platform
- Event type: Essential, Professional and Enterprise
- Light or dark mode: This will change the platform background to either white or black
- Welcome banner text: this text will be displayed over your default banner on the homepage
- Social Media URLs: You may choose to enter your event's socials such as Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Above the Details, there are also two options to activate the event status and mode.
Changing the Event Status: Draft or Live
By default, your event is set up and will remain in draft mode until you push it to live. While in draft mode, only admin users have the ability to view and access an event.
Note: You're able to change the status of your event to live mode up to one week before the start date of your event.
Once your event has been pushed to live, attendees which have registered are able to pre-book on to sessions, meetings etc.
Admins can switch between draft and live status at any point before or during the event. If the event status is toggled from live to draft while attendees are present, your attendees will be pushed from the event and will not be able to access the event until the event status is changed to live.
Attendees can still register for your event even if it is in draft mode, meaning you can work on making your event beautiful right up until the last moment.
Tip: Attendees can only access LIVE event platform. Make sure to keep your event in draft mode until you are ready for your attendees to access the event.
Changing the Event mode: In-person or Virtual
Note: If the event mode is set to In-person, the hybrid features will become visible within step 2 i.e. Badges, locations & hotels. If it's a virtual event that you're creating, the hybrid features would become irrelevant to your event & therefore, won't be visible within step 2.
