How to send out notifications directly through Canapii

Canapii now enables users to push out notifications directly through the platform. Firstly select Notifications under the Communications of the Console side bar. Here you'll have the option to create a new notification.

To create a new notification, select create and work your way through the options:

Banner: This is optional but if you do upload an image, ensure that it's in landscape mode & uploaded in 600x100 pixels.

Message: Enter the notification message here.


Notification Type

Show as a pop-up: The notification will appear as an on screen pop-up during the 'live' event.

Announcement banner: The notification will appear as a text only banner at the top of the home page screen.

Push notification: Notifications will appear on homescreen when users are outside of the mobile app.

Email notification: The notification will be received as an email.

SMS: Notification will be received as a text message when mobile number is listed. 


Send to: You have the option to send to all attendees, session attendees, selected or custom attendees - select accordingly. 


Re-direct URL (platform): Allows you to add an in-app (Canapii) URL. When a notification is clicked, attendee is redirected to the URL within the Canapii app. 



Send later: If you wish to schedule the notification for a later time, you can do so here. 

If the notification is scheduled to a later date/time, the notification will send in accordance to the event time zone & not the attendees set preferences. 

Notification history 

Chat notifications will show up in notification history on both the mobile app and the desktop app.

When a user receives a message they will receive a push notification that can also be seen on the notification page/popup.

When there is an unread chat there will be a red icon with a number next to the chat icon similar to notifications.

When an event is live and the user has received a new message, a notification indicator will show in the homepage. This will only show for new messages in live events.
