When you create an event on Canapii, the first decision is your event mode. This determines which features and settings are available in your Event Console.
Virtual event mode is designed for online events where all attendees join remotely. It enables live streaming, video on demand, Simulive, live breakout sessions, virtual networking, AI matchmaking, sponsor zones and the full audience engagement suite including Q&A, polls, gamification and chat. The Canapii mobile app is available in virtual mode.
In-person event mode is designed for events where attendees are physically present at a venue. It enables all onsite tools including badge printing kiosks, QR code scanning for check-in and lead retrieval, the on-site control panel, floor plans, venue management, meeting and session locations and flight and hotel management. Networking, sessions and engagement tools are also available for in-person attendees through the mobile app.
Hybrid events combine virtual and in-person modes, giving both remote and in-room attendees access to sessions, networking and engagement tools from a single unified platform. To switch your event between hybrid and virtual mode, navigate to General Settings and select Update Details.
Can I change event mode after creating an event?
Yes. You can switch between hybrid and virtual mode at any time from General Settings. The onsite features toggle is also available under Features and Networking in General Settings.
